I will start the IVF process after I get my next AF. If all goes as planned, I will start BCP mid-January, start Lupron injections the last weekend of January, and then do the actual egg retrieval and transfer the end of February. This will be my first IVF. I did 2 IUI's and conceived both times but the first one was a blighted ovum and the second ectopic. I lost my left tube with the ectopic so the doctor strongly recommended moving on to IVF.
Do you know when you will be starting your cycle.
I started lupron on 12/28 my ad started 1/4 I go in for my baseline appt tomorrow this is my ivf my right tube is blocked! Good luck!
Hi ladies,
I am just starting all the tests for IVF. Does any one know if the antral follicle test needs to be done on day three of your cycle? I know BW does. I am feeling very overwhelmed about IVF at the moment. Thanks!
My doctor's office always said that the u/s needed to be done within the first 5 days of the cycle. I had to do this with my IUI cycles and they said I will need to do this after I get my next AF for my IVF cycle. They are checking to make sure the follicles look good and also to make sure there are no cysts. I don't know if it is the same for IVF but I couldn't do an IUI cycle once because I had cysts on my ovaries and the fertility meds would have made them worse. Has the doctor given you a sample IVF schedule yet. I was feeling overwhelmed until I got a schedule of what was going to happen from my doctor's office. It made me feel a lot better just knowing what would be going on. Good luck!!!
Thnk you! I had to book the apointment and i have it set for what i believe will be day 6 or 7 of my cycle. Here we have to book the apointments weeks in advance so its a bit of a guessing game. It doesnt say anywhere in the literature i recieved that it needs to be on a certain day so hopefully its ok. Im going to call and make sure though.
I did get a time line. I just dont know when things will begin for me bc im on a wait list. Could be 3months..could be 6 months. I found out that we need to have a lawyer represent us! Heard this through a friend. I believe its paper work to avoid lawsuits. A ton of info all at once!
I am currently on the last week of my BCP's. I go for lab and US on 01/11th and will begin meds after AF. I have had 1 IVF and 1 FET before both were lining issues I am told. This time I will be taking Progesterone and Estrogen injections because the estrogen patches didn't work well. Progesterone suppositories and Viagra suppositories and estrogen pills. This time my RE feels these meds will produce a thicker lining. I also have a blocked left tube other than that no issues.
Sorry but I didnt have that test done when I started. Try google to see if you can get answers.
It is the same with IVF if there are cyst they will wait until they are gone or until they feel that they will not interfere with stims. I have lab and US often to check for cysts and HOSS.
A lawyer! What state are you in? I never had the idea come up, I would get more information on why a lawyer is needed.
Thank You for joining ladies! I wanted to start this forum so that we could share our experiences as we partake in this difficult process. There are other forums were people have gotten BCP's and our focusing on that which is great. I hope and pray all of us will get the BCP that we hope for!
AF arrived today, so I'll be going in for a scan and start my first injections on Monday. I'm very excited after trying for 3 1/2 years and this is our first attempt with any assistance. Anyone in the UK doing IVF? Good luck to everyone!
Im in Canada. We go to a session explaining all the ins and outs on IVF in March. I am positive the lawyer is to prevent us from suing the clinic but ill find out more. Not really concerned about it. just another cost. A close friend of mine dealt with the same clinic and raves about how fantastic her experience was....she has triplet girls btw!
I did google the test and got mixed answers hence the post.
Moody23227, Mrschris0214 & Keith_Cheggers - Sounds like you are all about a month ahead of me with the process. Good luck! I hope everything goes smoothly. Sending you tons of sticky baby dust.
I am waiting for my doctor's office to call me so I can schedule my first U/S. Keeping my fingers crossed that I have no cysts that would delay starting the IVF cycle.
Hi Ladies,
I am starting IVF this month if all goes well with the test results. I had bw done Friday, DH is going in this Wednesday to drop of his sample. I got all meds ready to go just waiting on AF to start mid January. I've done 4 unsuccessful IUI, 4 m/c and 2 live births--natural. I have an 18 yr old son from a previous relationship. DH and I have a beautiful 15 month old girl. We are doing IVF so that we do not have any what ifs floating around. We know that due to my age most of my eggs are old, but we are hopeful to get a few good ones which result in a healty pregnancy.
Good Luck to all of you, I hope to read about a bunch of BFPs soon.
I have found out alot about my issues over the years but untill now was to overweight to have IVF .I have an appointment at my local hospital in april for the 1 chance that they offer .Does anyone know if it ok to move areas and recieve the other 2 chances that other areas offer ?
I had an ectopic pregnancy back in 2004 they took out my right tube ,I didnt know my other tube was damaged untill afew years ago , I recently went to a private clinic in hope to donate eggs in return for IVF, After my internal scan I was told my right ovary is hidden behind my uterus and it is to dangerous to retrieve eggs from incase it ruptured my womb, bowel or bladder ! My other ovary is in the right place but only 3 stem cells could be seen , which means they can only ever retrieve 3 eggs. This ofcourse is better the 1 but I am unable to do egg donation in return for IVF. I have been told my local nhs is an 18 month wait .I really hope when i go for the april appointment they will have better news for me I am 35 next month I dont feel I have time on my side With all my problems I dont feel I have much hope .Has anyone else ever moved areas for more chances? Has anyone out there been or is going through the same as me? does anyone know if I still have a good chance ? help !!
I think we're the only two on this thread that are in the uk. I live in surrey county and had been seeing a doctor for fertility for 2 1/2 years when they let me know funding had stopped for IVF! We're about a mile from a different county but not allowed to go there unless we move. We were sick of being messed about by the NHS and finally were able to fund it ourselves. We've done a lot of research and been doing this for a long time, so if you have any questions let me know.
Im in London , near Surrey , thanks for your support , I will let you know if I find out any more x
Yes...I think I know where London is... ;) keep me updated!
Even with only 3 eggs you still have a good chance. Even if you get one it could implant. I havent had to move areas yet, but I do know that coverage is better in certain areas. Dont stress and good luck!
I am in the US, IL to be exact. IVF is mandated here so IVF is some what easier. I had BW and labs today, starting 20 units of Lupron for 2 weeks than I will get my protocol and start the other injectables. Here I go!
My ultrasound was today and I am happy that I do not have cysts. I started BCPs today and I am schedule to do the HSN test next Wednesday to make sure that I don't have any fibroids or anything else that can prevent implantation.
