Shayla, congrats on graduating!! (per your post yesterday) Can't wait till I graduate! Those progesterone shots do suck. I am glad that you asked the question in the doc forum about quitting you progesterone and was it safe. That really made me feel better. I only have 4.5 weeks to do the shots.

Can I ask you a question? I am 7.5 weeks pg with twins, and I'm having some sharp pain in lower abd. It leaves as fast as it comes, it's not constant or crampy. Do you remember feeling this? I've read where you can have discomfort when the uterine ligaments and muscles are stetching? I'm 36, never been pg, never mc or had abortions. My DH had problems, so we had to do IVF. I am so nervous at every little thing that's different, and I don't want to keep calling doc to complain. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks and congrats again to you!

Wow congrats on TWINS!!! Lucky you!  I was hoping for twins as I did IUI and had 6 mature follicles so they said that there was definitely that chance..but I just feel so blessed that there is even one in there!!!  How did you get prego? IUI? IVF? Natural?  So are you due at the end of January or early February?? They gave me a due date of January 15th which makes it feel a bit more real.
To answer some of your questions..YES I've gotten the quick sharp cramps..and I know that my friends have gotten this too.  Naturally I have freaked from this assuming I'd go to the bathroom and see blood!:) I've heard that these cramps/sharp pains can get worse as the baby grows and since you have two in there I'm guessing you'd be about equal in size to someone about 12 weeks...just a guess.
Have you been able to see the heart beats yet?? If so realize that is a big mile marker..chances go way down of m/c once a heartbeat is detected.  However, with me, I was still scared after seeing the h/b at 8 weeks, then 10, then 12! So I'm TRYING my hardest to relax now and enjoy the pregnancy..I have 1 daughter but these two m/c have really made me lose some confidence in my body for pregnancy.
Let me know if I can be of any more help. :)

One more thing...and you probably already know this....the progesterone in oil shots are horrible....but to make mine a little bit easier I really ice up the area for about 2 minutes before my dh pokes me...and I alternate "cheeks" every night.  I had to do oil shots since 1 day past IUI up to about 11 1/2 weeks of pregnancy.  I called my current OB since I'll be going back to her and she also said that I could totally quit progesterone support but that I needed to stay on the baby aspirin...fine by me as thats MUCH easier!

We did IVF, they didn't give us a very high % of success with IUI, due to our problem, and since I'm 36, I didn't want to waste any time.  We'd already TTC on our own for 2 yrs, and I felt like time was ticking.   They put 3 embryos back in, but they were not the best quality, so we were surprised that 2 implanted.

I am due Feb 15, but I won't last that long.  From what I've read, twins usually arrive about one month early, so it may be more like January 15!!!  Yes, last week when they did the US, we saw and heard both heartbeats!!  :)   I still have reservations because nothing has really gone smoothly.  When I got my HCG, they weren't doubling, only going up by 80%.  Then when we went for the US, they want to do another this week because the babies heartbeats were 110, and they want to see them at least 120.  So I still have in the back of my head that I'm only 7.5 weeks along and that m/c can still happen.  Every time I have a new pain, I get so worried that it might be the start of a m/c.

Thanks for your help and again congrats to you and best of luck!!
