Pregnancy Symptoms after IUI... HELP!!!!

Hello, I want to start by saying how happy I am to find a group where I can talk about my feelings and the experiences that both my husband and I have had with the IUI…

I am a 28 year old mother of a 10 year old boy…We had the IUI on May 9 (mother’s day) and May 10, both my husband and I were happy to see that it was happening on such special day…The doctors gave me Ovedril the day before (May 8) to make me ovulate, my follicle was 2.8 on the right side and 1.2 on the left side.. When we had the IUI on May 9, I went home and I lay down all day, I felt some cramps (like my period) and the same happened for the May 10…
When the last IUI insemination (May 10) ended, I came back to work... The doctor put me on some progesterone… I started to feel bloated, as if I am getting my period…I have frequent urinations, I am sure it is because of the water, I sleep a lot, I feel tired all the time. I am not sure if it is too soon to have pregnancy symptoms, with my first pregnancy (ten years ago) I did not get symptoms until after my first trimester…I am due for my blood work on May 25, I am not sure if I can wait that long…I also noticed that I gained 2 pounds this week…can someone please let me know if this is normal? I feel some pain over my bellybutton and on my left ovary; I also feel some discomfort on my bellybutton as if something is pulling it. I’m I crazy?

Hi there

I to take great comfort from knowing we are not alone!! I am in the middle of 2ww and due to test tues!!  Torture!! I to had major bloatedness due to progest. I have had some symptoms but don't know if they are due to pregnancy or AF; tiredness, sore boobs, feeling hot, sore gums.  Let me know how you get on; will keep everything crossed for you.

I am so happy to know that I am not alone on this. I am so sorry that your IUI did not go well; I hope the second one does! I will pray for you! Do you think my first IUI will be a winner? I was told that usually the first IUI is not successful.

Thank you so much. I will get the three testers today. I was told that I have my blood test on May 25. I will let you guys know how it went.

I put on a few pounds with every cycle. Between the trigger and the progesterone my appetite and digestive system are out of control! I also get crampy for a good week to week and a half after the IUI. I think because I get so many follies. Good Luck to you!

I had an IUI done in April and after the shot and the progesterone suppositories, i was so bloated, I looked about 4 mos pregnant. It makes you very tired and gives you pregnancy symptoms like usuk said. I had all the symptoms I had with my first pregnancy - sore boobs, cravings etc but that IUI did not work. Good luck!

What I usually do is buy a box of three tests, and I take one 10 days after my IUI, and then again 11 days, 12 days, etc. You might get a false positive after only 10 days from leftover Ovidrel....but if it stays positive over the next 2 days and the line does net get lighter in color, it is a good sign :) Good luck.

the HCG from the trigger shot can give you many pregnancy symptoms. it takes anywhere from 10-12 days to get rid of that in your system. the medicine and that procedure can combined can cause bloating and cramping. so give it about 11 days after the IUI (12 days after trigger) and start testing :)
