I have experienced a bit of pain where my ovaries are, mostly on the left though. Usually my breasts would get big and tender after CD14 which usually indicates that I have ovulated already and progesterone has taken over. I'm on CD 16 and my breasts still feel normal. i'm also on my first cycle of clomiphene citrate CD 2-6.
Update: I got really bad cramping that lasted pretty much all day each day (CD8-10), I'm chalking that up to side effects. Then I got more mild cramping, shorter bursts (more like Premenstrual) CD 10-11. I havent had a positive OPK yet, but started the BDing (every other day 10-18). I am currently on CD 12. I am really hoping just to ovulate at this point...BFP would be an added bonus, but now....I just want to make sure my body's OK. I did gain 1.5 lbs this month and have been trying to take in some more fat.
Well I started the Clomid Mon evening, by Tues (before the second dose) I started getting uncomfortable cramping and felt that way until I woke up this morning. I suppose i'd rather hae physical side effects than the emotional ones I've read about!
I have a script to check for pregnancy and Progesterone on Day 21. Doc says to do the Clomid for 1-3mnths (@max). Depending on results, I think I will get a referral to a specialist when I speak to the office, set up an appt just in case. I've heard from a friend that there is a decent waiting time for new patients.
Hello, you are very similar to me, I am of low body weight and do not have periods(although i ovulated 3 years ago and conceived our son naturaly) I am now 41 and we've been trying ever since for a sibling, was put on clomid like you with out a cycle to help me ovulate, well the clomid gave me a bleed each month for 3 months but didnt make me ovulate. On the forth month on clomid I got no bleed and and had an ultrasound to see whats going on, revealed a cyst on right ovary. So clomid is not for me, apparantaly after a few months on it , it can give you cysts then ofcourse you have to stop taking it. It didnt make me ovulate anyway so we are back to completely natural and as it worked for me at the weight I am now, who knows we may be lucky again, just age against me.my best wishes melissax
I've never heard of taking clomid when you aren't on your cycle. I would talk to the RE before taking it, because it is supposed to help you ovulate. I went to take it this month, and because my first day was spotting and then it stopped until almost a full 24 hrs later when I got a regular flow, my RE had me actually say that the flow was day 1 and not the spotting. When AF arrives, it's shedding your previous lining and the unfertilized eggs to start the new cycle of ovulation - if you haven't shed your current lining, I find it hard to believe that it will make you ovulate without AF. Did you ask your OB why she would prescribe this without AF?
Every person responds differently to Clomid.
Going to see in RE, I think, is a good step. That is her/his field of expertise and hopefully you get some answers and help.
