Can you have ovulation BLEEDING?

I posted this over on the maternal forum as well, so thanks to those guys for clue-ing me in.  I thought I would ask it over here as well:

Just wondering as someone asked me and I was not sure.  Heard of pain and cm but not bleeding.  Midcycle bleeding on about O day....could this be normal?  If so, does it happen with, before or after O?

It is my daughter and she is TTC for the last 8 or 9 months since a mc.  She was 28 days for six months.  Then, 31 days for two months.  Now bleeding on day 14, about the time she thought she might o.  She asked me, and I just got that "duh" look.  Figures.

Thanks in advance!

I have read that when the follicle ruptures to release the egg it can bleed. Usually is not heavy, just tinged or spotted.

I've had that happen twice and it was after O for me.  I heard it could happen any time during, before or after O though.  It was pinkish and lasted a few hours.

Good luck to her!!
