I just want to say im sorry you ladies are going threw this. I will keep you in my prayers. I also have a cyst on my right ovary, it was 2.0cm, dr told me not to worry about it. Once i get back home from my vacation im going to have my primary care physcian schedule me an u/s to see if it grew or went away. Sometimes it is a shame when doctors say dont worry about it, i feel they should at least have women follow up with u/s to see whats going on with the cyst. I always tell my dr, if you wont prescribe it, i ll find a dr who will, im my own advocate and you(the dr) should be looking out for my best interest. I didnt even no i had a cyst until i went into er for a missed m/c in june. Im hoping it is gone by the time i go back.
Last month I had to visit ER because I had a horrible abdominal pain caused by a gigantic cyst on my left ovary of 9 cms, the doctors told me...that I had a cyst that was Hyperstimulated because I was having injections to stimulate my ovaries for an In Vitro fertilization procedure!....
I went to a very prestiged clinic here in La jolla Ca "Reproductive Partners" to have that In vitro, and the Dr. who attended me saw my cyst on my ovary before we started the treatment; and last time that she saw it on ultrasound; she said the cyst is growing but we are going to keep an eye on it....so she prescribed me anyway the stimulation inyections and boom! ...on only 4 days of stimulation, the cyst grew up gigantic ,causing me unbearable pain...like apendicitis pain style... that neither a stronger dosis of morphine could make it dissapear at all;
I had to stay on the hospital 2 and a half days with IV on my arm for pain killers, and 6 days of total bed rest... with "threats" from ER doctors that i was going to need surgery and will loose my ovary.
Conclusion--- Warning--Always when a cyst is discovered on the ovary don't believe your doctor!! is better to suspend the treatment and wait one cycle to see if the cyst dissapears by itself, but not start any stimuation with a cyst on the ovary because you never know how the cyst is going react!
Now I have to wait for months until slowly this monstrous cyst dissapears by itself to avoid loosing my ovary, and my new Dr. already told me that I should not try Invitro again, that I should better adopt a child....
let's see...I am not planning to give up....but I was close to loose my ovary for this cyst that my fertility Dr. ignored
I am very sorry to hear what you are going through. I just have a question? I too have cysts on my ovaries, dr say he was not too concerned. Actually if you could read my post just above yours and maybe see what you think. Good luck to you on ttc. We are ttc as well.
