Fertilization Report/Update #2, Day 3 post transfer

My doctor called me (himself, which freaked me out...thinking it was going to be bad news) and said that our three embies are looking beautiful.  I was so relieved, and glad he called at 9:00am so I didn't have to wait all day in suspense.  He said he is really hoping all of them continue to develop, (of course) but would be happy with two.  I'm trying to let it go and just be patient and have faith.  I'm just hoping for the best.

Now its just discussing whether to put all three in if all three are good. :)  I hate to say it after all we have been through, but three is a lot if they all take.  And the danger....ugh, I don't even want to go there right now....one day at a time I guess!

That's amazing about the drilling!  Even more amazing that it worked for you.  It goes to show how different things can work for different people!  And thank you for easing my mind about the bleeding.  I figured it was from the retrieval, but wasn't sure.

Kricket- So glad it went ok for you.  I am fearing the whole bladder being full thing. Haha!  I'm just going to start drinking on the way there and not over do it.  I'm sure I will be waiting awhile.  I have to get their an hour early, so starting when I get there might even be the best thing!

P.S. - ovarian drilling is a surgical procedure for women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).  They literally drill out the tiny cysts on your ovaries and somehow (NO IDEA how!) this can get you to ovulate on your own and temporarily fixes your hormones for approx 1-6 months.  It doesn't work for everyone but it certainly worked for me!  I think it helped not just to get me to ovulate, but to balance my progesterone once I got pregnant so that I could hang onto it for more than 3 days.  I still can't believe it worked after all these years - it still feels so surreal!

Not to worry about the discharge or cramping.  For starters, I was in lots of pain after both of my retrievals which I was told was normal - so sounds like you are lucky.  After the last retrieval, because I was on baby aspirin and my blood thinned, just about every time I moved I bled fresh blood.  Substantial amounts sometimes (still only needed a pantiliner but enough to make me scared).  I was really freaking out because I thought that I was shedding some of my womb before the embryos went back in, but I asked about it and read about it and both sources said it was just bleeding from puncture wounds in the vagina from the retrieval - NICE!  I couldn't even go to the bathroom or shower without bleeding.  So I'm sure a little staining is probably just some things healing inside and absolutely nothing to worry about!  They "punctured" me at least 17 times though - which may explain why I bled more and was more uncomfortable.

I'm SOOO excited for you!!  The transfer is CAKE compared to the retrieval!  Nothing to worry about at all!  Keep us posted!

I was fine yesterday until the Dr was an hour late & I was trying to hold my bladder.......OMG  How could he do that.  I was in so much pain & when they were adjusting me on the table I could not move because of the bladder pains.  It was so quick & painless...very cool to watch on the tv though.
As I mentioned I had the two transferred yesterday & today feeling cramps...still waiting to hear if the other two are able to be frozen.

Transfer is tomorrow morning!  Can't wait.  However, I feel a little crampy right now?  Has anyone every experienced that before transfer?  I have been fine since day 2 after retrieval.  Almost feels like AF.  I went to the BR and (sorry, TMI here...) and there was a little brownish discharge.  Do you think that is just leftover from retrieval?  I sure hope so.  I'm not finding much when I google it....

Yeah, still can't decide what to do about transferring.  We're going to discuss it with our RE in the morning.  And your right, my RE doesn't like to disturb them so they look day 1 and day 3.

I will keep you guys posted!

I'm so glad all three are dividing and doing well! My RE also only checked day 1, day 3 and then transfer on day 5...I guess they preferred not to disturb the embies by checking every day (or something like that). As for whether or not to transfer all three (if they all go to blasts), I'm not sure what i would do. I had two transferred and got pregnant with one, but yeah, you never know...

Sending another load of baby dust to you and your three little embies!

:-)
