How long after your HCG hot does your RE do the IUI?

Hi all,

I did my trigger shot last night at 9pm and my doctor does the iui 36 hrs later. My hubby does his "deed" at 8 am friday and I go in at 930. I am nervous becuase I was instructed to have sex last night, none today. I think we may be doing the iui a little too late........

ADVICE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

If it doesnt work this cycle I will def bd the night before the iui as we do not have any count issues. I have been getting sharp pains on and off and a lot of bloating. Is this normal???

Hey Jenn ...I did my trigger shot on Monday night at 9:30 and I am sure I O'd Tuesday night....Then IUI on Wed morning....no sperm issues in our situation so we BD on Tues evening and then Wed night after IUI....But thats just us....
No back to back IUI's so we thought it wouldn't hurt to cover the basis.

Let us know how it goes today!!!

I did IUI 24 hours after trigger shot.  I was ovulating at the time they did the IUI as they could see from the ultrasound. They did trigger on d13 and IUI d14.  I usually ovulate on D14, but becuase they were doing iui they wanted to be sure of the timing, which is why they also did trigger.

Agree that if low sperm count is not an issue, bd in advance of the IUI.

If you are worried you may ovulate before the 36 hrs (which is only an average, not a sure thing) you could always have sex tonight.  Unless low sperm count is an issue, then it wouldn't be a good idea.
Good Luck!!!

Hey Jen - ask all the questions you need to in order to feel comfortable :) I was just messing with ya :) hee hee - I can say all of this because I used to be the same way. I spazed out about everything! After doing it for years, now I am more laid back and realize there ain't a whole lot I can do about it. I am a type A person who has to control everything so infertility has been a HUGE lesson to me!! :) Maybe that's why God gave it to me :) Oh well! I felt better when I woke up - I even pressure washed the house and took my DD to the bowling alley with her friend and now I feel like poo...too much, too fast. ugh - see, even people who have gone through this and KNOW better, are still dumb sometimes :) hahahah - hang in there! I am sending you awesome vibes!!

36 hrs is perfect for me. I can feel myself O about an hour or so after the IUI the last two times. You can talk to him about doing 2 if this cycle doesn't work. Stop panicking Jenn :) It will be ok!!

Hi Jenn when I did IUIs we did double IUIs so mine was a little different. I did the trigger, then 24 hrs later an IUI and then 24 hrs after that another one. I do believe though that you are supposed to O 36  hours after O. Good LUCK!
