Side effects from HSG?

Hi all. I'm going for an HSG this afternoon, and was wondering if other people have had it done, and what they experienced afterwards. They told me to take advil beforehand due to possible cramping during the procedure, but no one said anything about what it could feel like afterwards. Any insight would be appreciated--thanks! Wendy.

I totally agree with you, I had it done about two weeks ago and saw stars due to the pain and I took 4 advil.  My left tube was blocked and the Doctor kept shooting the dye and the balloon burst so the water / dye just went everywhere but my right tube was fine and open.  It was very painful, but it didn't last a few minutes and when it was over, after about 10 minutes, I was fine.  A little shaken and weak but not really any pain afterwards. Take a pad, because you will need one or they may provide you with one, as they did me. Hope everything turns out good for you!!
