i think it depends on the fertility clinic. my ob/gyn has to put me in for a referral for IVF, and he showed me a checklist of tests that are required. he did a whole lot of blood tests, but they did it all in one visit to the lab. next i have to do a saline sonohysterogram. it's basically an ultrasound, with saline injected into uterus. this will show if you have fibroids or polyps, and whether they're distorting the uterine cavity. i also did an HSG, which is a dye test. this will check to see if your fallopian tubes are blocked. And finally, i have to do a Clomid Challenge test. this means i'll take Clomid 100 mg (cycle days 5-9), with blood being drawn on the 3rd and 10th day of my cycle, to see if my body responds to the medicine, by making me ovulate. I hope this helps!! let me know if you need more details. i have the full checklist of the exact blood tests required. good luck and i wish you the best!
You would require to do a blood test on CD2 or CD3 to check your hormone levels. Your dh will have to do a sperm analysis as well.
Good luck.
My RE insisted that I have a laparoscopy prior to me having an ivf. My lap didn't show anything significant but glad I had none the less.
But other test may be required for other patients. GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS on Parenthood!
Thats the only test (HSG) where I found both tubes to be blocked with fluid and I will be having them both removed on Friday with Lapascropic. I guess each individual is different.
a HSG to check to see if your TUBES are blocked or damaged
I know one test you have to get is a HSG study to see if your tubes ar blocked.
