Undeveloped Uterus and Cervix

When I was about 12, I was taken to the gynocologist  because I hadn't yet started my period. It was then that I leaned that my uterus and cervix did not fully develop and that I would never have a period or be able to have children. I am 28 now and my husband and I want children more than anything. Is there anything I can do to fix this and if so, what?

I read an article recently that they sucessfully preformed the first uterus transplant in a foreign country (USA here) so within a few years it might be possible

See a reproductive endocrinologist.  If you have ovaries, the likelihood is that they can use IVF techniques to ripen and aspirate your eggs, and those can be united with your husband's sperm in the lab, producing embryos.  With embryos from your own eggs and your husband's sperm, you are pretty much on the way.  A gestational carrier (surrogate mother) can carry the pregnancy for you, and you will have children.  This is not cheap, but neither is adoption, and neither is sadness over wanting children.  So get going, and see the specialist.  Good luck!

Hi there and welcome.  I'm sorry for your predicament.  That is when nature doesn't make sense.  There is always adoption.  This is a wonderful thing if you are open to it.

I personally don't know of any surgery that will rebuild a womb to carry a baby in.  Do you have fallopian tubes and ovaries by the way?  The other issue is the hormones.  You can not get pregnant without fully functioning hormones which includes ovulation and period.  I'm not sure if you produce eggs or not if they could be fertilized in vitro and transplanted in a surrogate.

These are very good questions for your doctor.  What does your doctor say?  peace, I'm sure this is very difficult.  But remember, just because you don't give birth to a child does not mean you can't be a parent!
