TTC WITH PCOS-MISSED NOV. CYCLE

Hello, my husband and I have been trying to conceive since we've gotten married 8 yrs ago. I was diagnosed with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) in 2006. I'm not overweight, and my cycles come every month but not consistently. Well, this entire month of Nov., I have not gotten my period. I thought I might finally be pregnant so I went to my dr. and the test was negative. How can this be?? I get my period every month,  finally miss a cycle, and it's negative? It's now the end of Nov. and my period still has not shown. I'm so hurt and frustrated. I just want to be a mommy so badly. My dr said that if I don't get my period by mid Dec., she will start me on Letrozole. I really wanted to try metformin, but she insists on trying this Letrozole medication. Do you think there's any hope for me after this amount of time?  I really feel like giving up, and don't think I can handle another negative test. Any Letrozole success stories?  I could really use some support, I almost broke down in the dr.'s office. Thanks

Thank you very much for your response. I'm so sorry about your loss. I'm sure your day is coming soon! =) It does make more sense to take Letrozole over Clomid, I just pray it works because I'm turning 36 this month and really don't want to wait much longer.  I know this day and age women are having children
at all ages, I personally just do not want to wait too
long. Thank you for giving me hope.

Hello. I also have PCOS. I have been on Metformin since January. I got pregnant in May, but it sadly ended in an early miscarriage. After another surgery to remove a cyst I started a round of clomid. No pregnancy that month, but I developed a cyst. So, I took birth control for a month and a half to allow it to shrink. I then started Letrozole this cycle. I would go with what your doctor says. From my understanding, the Letrozole will help you to produce follicles, where Metformin helps to regulate insulin, which in turn helps you to ovulate. Taking the Letrozole may be good, because you need follicles.
