question about testing for progestrone1

Hey ladies, I m/c naturally last week and saw my dr. yesterday to examine me and check my hcg levels to see that they were going down.  Since I've had 2 blighted ovums in a row my dr. said we could do some blood work and swabs to check to see if anything looks abnormal. I forgot to ask him about progestrone levels and when you should check them in case that may be the problem.  So, for those of you that have had a problem with that when is it that you check the prog. levels?  I know it probably doesn't do any good to check once you've already had the m/c.  I guess I just wonder if that's something you have checked during your cycle or once you become preg. again.  I know they abviously can't tell me if I'll m/c again but I'm just wondering if the tests they did will really do any good and tell me anything.  Also I'm so nervous about getting preg again since my new dr.s office policy is not to see you (for ultrasound) until your 12 weeks.  With both of my pregnancies I didn't even know I had no baby growing until I had my u/s at about 8 weeks.  I can't even imagine waiting to find that out until 12 weeks!  So sorry this is so long I'm just confused and worried...

Sorry, I meant to add that I have one dd, don't know if that makes a difference in having a prog. prob. or anything else.

I have low progesterone too but i didnt have it when i had my dd but i had to take suppliments when i was preg with my ds about 3 years apart so things can change after your first.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out you had low prog?  My dr. doesn't normally check that, usually just hcg levels.  Had you been tested before or did your dr. just automatically check for that when you had your 1st blood test?  Sorry, I'm just confused when they check for that...  Thanks!
