Ultrasound at 6.5 weeks

Hello.  My wife is now just at 7 weeks pregnant.  She had a trans vaginal ultrasound on Friday which would have been right at 6.5 weeks.  We are sure that she got pregnant on Feb. 24 or 25th as I traveled a lot and we didn't see each other much other than then.  I'm worried because when we went for her scan they didn't see anything at all.  Everything I've read says that a trans vaginal scan will show SOMETHING by 6.5 weeks.  She had one day of SEVERE cramping and nausea, back pain, dizziness, etc but it didn't even last 24 hrs.  That was around 5 weeks.  She hasn't had any spotting and still has pregnancy symptoms.  Her OB didn't seem worried at all that nothing was visible at 6.5 weeks and my wife is very trusting with her doctor.  I'm worried about it and my wife is telling me to relax and not be worried.  Also, the doctor didn't tell us her hGC levels and said, "I'll call you if there's a problem with the results."  Since we haven't heard anything we assume the levels were ok.  Still, I can't shake this feeling that something should have shown up.  Can anyone tell me some information?  Again, we are certain that she got pregnant on the 24th or 25th of Feb.
Thanks,
Adam

I would at least call the office and ask them to tell you what her HCG levels are.

I'll try to convince her today.  Anyone with similar experience??  Good or bad, please.

I agree they should see something in there- at least a gestational sac (at the very least). Did they at least say the uterine lining was thick as if to support a pregnancy? Several things could be going on- her body may have reabsorbed the pregnancy and if that is the case she may bleed soon- but I agree with PP's that she should be seen again to rule out an ectopic pregnancy (although often with an ectopic a gestational sac is still seen in the uterus). Are you absolutely positive she is this far along? I had a good size gestational sac and yolk sac inutero at 5 weeks- and my baby was growing slowly-ended in miscarriage.. that is why I am shocked that they saw nothing.
I also don't want to worry you- but it is DEFINATELY something that should be followed up on prior to 10 weeks.... whether she likes her doctor or not.
Best of luck...God bless and keep you both.

it could have been late implantation. Sometimes the baby implants alittle late and so it doesn't show up as soon. I wouldn't worry too much if the DR isn't. If your wife starts to have pain, then it would be time for concern.

I agree with the other ladies, she should get her hcg levels from the dr and ask for an u/s sooner than the 10 weeks...when you say they saw nothing...did your wife ask if that meant absolutely nothing or did they atleast see the gestational sac?
Just convince your wife to get these things clarified so you can have some peace of mind...Try to relax and hopefully everything will be just fine. Take care

It meant nothing, no sac of anything. The tech looked around for about ten minutes. We are sure of when she got pregnant too. I convinced her to call tomorrow to find out her levels. I'm thinking that the doctor isn't so worried because we didn't count the weeks right and told her we were only 5 weeks. My wife isn't worried though because she still feels fine and pregnant. She wants me to relax and trust her body. I'll post her hcg numbers and progesterone tomorrow.
