Dr. P is on the same page as me, lol. Definitely, every day. I am older, ugh, much *blush* My eggs don't last nearly as long as the younger ladies here. That is why my dr said 2x/day after pos opk.  Once that opk turns pos, you generally only have 2 days max after that to hit that egg. Every other day at that point would be moot. Both days are equally important. Most pregnancies result from those two days. Happy bding!!!

Dear foreverpoppy9 - both your OB and your PA are giving you reasonable advice about intercourse timing. Let me clarify:

1) We know that women can get pregnant if they have intercourse any time from 5 days before ovulation to the day of ovulation. The most fertile days are two days before ovulation, one day before ovulation, and the day of ovulation. By 24 hours after ovulation you are no longer fertile

2) Thus, having intercourse every two days from day 11 to day 18-20 should cover you since you will likely ovulate at some point between days 11 and 20.

3) Ovulation prediction kits, once they turn positive, tell you that you will ovulate sometime in the next 12-36 hours. Since this falls during the most fertile time, having intercourse the day your urine LH turns positive and the day after make sense. After having intercourse those two days, you can stop if you want.

Thus, both your OB and your PA are giving you good advice. I often suggest either approach, or even a combined approach where I recommend intercourse every other day until the urine OPKs are positive, and then intercourse that day and the next.

There is no right or wrong, or best way, to handle this. All of these approaches make good sense.

my dh was never tested yet with a s/a...so what do you think then?

My dr said since my dh has excellent s/a it is better to do every day and even 2x a day when in the fertile window. If there is an issue with sperm qty/quality, then no. Only every other day. Sperm is replenished every other day. But, it is only reduced by 1/2 after the 1st ejaculation. Therefore, if you are doing 2x a day(as we do in the fertile window) you still have more sperm waiting for the egg to release than if you did every other day. I do stress though, only every day or 2x a day IF s/a is normal. You seriously decrease your chances if too much bd with low count.

if u had opk positive then u have to bd today&tomorrow as your pa said,it is mostly benifiting to have bd in day of ovulation&as sperms live in your uterus for 24 hours then next day b a confirming 1,follow your pa&hoping it comes this time with baby dust, good luck.
