Nerves after IFV transfer

Hi. I am new to this forum. I had my 5 day embryo transfer today - they transferred 3 good embryos. I have had butterflies in my stomach ever since - it just feels like a constant knot in my stomach. I am trying to relay and be positive but I am concerned that my nerves are going to impact the success. Is this a common sympton after IVF? Also my estrodial level today was about 800 so they put me on the estrogen patch a few days early. Is this concerning?

Hi and welcome. It is perfectly normal to be nervous. In 2005 my 1st attempt I wasn't nervous at all. That attempt failed. Then 6 weeks later with my 2nd attempt I was VERY nervous and not optimistic. Found out 8 days later that I was preggos!! I went on to deliver a healthy baby boy. Now it's 2 and a half years later I am trying for my 2nd child. I had three 3 day embryos transferred on 25 July. The blood test day the hCG was positive but VERY low(7). Two days later it went up to 9 and I will have to attempt again. You have a much better chance because 5 day embryos are way more successful than 3 days and with you having 3 implanted your chances really are great. In fact 5 day embryos are so successful that the chance for multiples lead fertility experts to think long and hard before using 5 days(the ethic of multiples is heavily debated among those in the field). Do a lot of meditating and prayer to your higher power. It helps to relieve some of the nervousness. Also, I found that chatting with fellow IVFers was a great stress reliever and in my 3 years since I began working toward children I have found this site to be the best . Good luck and I will add you to my prayers. Hope to hear from you soon.

I think that stress is very common after ivf transfer.  We put so much of our hopes on ivf!  Some people try to take a vacation and relax but it's difficult.  I am sure it does not affect implantation.
My dr put me on estrogen pills w/o checking for my estradiol levels.  I started taking them right after transfer (I had a day 3 transfer).  I don't think you should be concerned.
Good luck to you!  I hope ivf works for you.
