post retrieval pain normal??

This is my first IVF cycle and I went for the retrieval yesterday morning (24 hours ago) where they retrieved 30 follicles from fairly sore ovaries!  I thought that I'd be feeling much better today now that my ovaries aren't being stretched to bursting but I don't and I'm a bit worried.
I'm so bloated it's unreal.  My whole mid-section from just under my breasts, down to my ovaries is bloated and tender and I feel mildly crampy (as if I'm constipated... which I'm not!)
Is this normal???  Should I be worried about internal bleeding or infection?  I'm guessing not because I'm assuming that if it were internal bleeding, considering how retrieval is done, I'd have at least some spotting and I have none (did have for the first half hour or so after the retrieval but that was it and it was mild), and I'm also guessing that if there were any infection, it would likely take longer to have a noticable affect.
Can anyone help?
I know I should call my doctor and I will but we're actually in different countries and my husband and I have been doing the 3 hour drive back and forth throughout all this.  Unfortunately, we're also in different time zones!!!  So I can't call yet as it's too early.
Thanks so much.

You had lots of follicles!!!!! A friend of mine said that the retrieval was the painful thing that she has ever experienced all 3 times she did IVF. She also had several follicles each time and that made me think that that might have something to do with it. I only had 9 follicles with my IVF and I was scared after the retrieval b/c I thought initially that they did not get anything because I felt nothing at all and I hurt hours after a normal pap and my friend has no problems with the pap. Good luck and rest and keep us posted.

Hi, yes I would call the Dr. just as babyadrian stated there should a night time Dr. on call to assist IVF patients.  After my retrievel I was extremely bloated and it lasted about 10 days or so.  I wasn't in pain until approx. 7 days after transfer.  My nurse said my follicles were filling back up to create a natural progesterone.  Good luck and I will say a prayer for you.

HI, what country are you in?... Its okay if you don't want to answer that question.
Are you in so much pain? if so you should call your doc. Cramping is normal but not intense cramping.. do you also take your temperature? If you think you have fever, take your temp and if its higher than normal, I would call the doc.

as far as constipation I was like that too even after the transfer.. or I say even now. just drink a lot of liquid especially gatorade.. or any 100% juice.  OH, by the way even if its night time , they should have an oncall doctor who can call you back..
I hope it helps.. good luck to you..
