What is the success rate of artificial insemination?

Hi. I have endometriosis and the doctor told me to do artificial insemimation where he injects the sperm directly into my uterus.

What is the success rate? I am doing it while taking Clomid.

I did it 2 weeks ago and don't think it succeeded because I am spotting right now and it is my 30th cycle day.

How many tries does it take to work? The procedure hurts very bad, so I want to do everything possible to succeed.

HI

I had my endo removed and we tried naturally a few months before moving to IUI twice which failed both times. I got my premenstrual spotting back which indicated the endo was back again so my doc advised that IUI wouldn't be the best option when endo is present and we had IVF which worked 1st time.

We are all different and I guess it depends on how bad your endo is. Mine was mild so this means that it can make the egg not viable when released so no matter how much sperm is there it wont work.

I am onto trying for my 2nd baby now and 1st IVF failed and now onto a Frozen IVF cycle. I am currently in my 2ww.

I hope it works for you soon.

Hi,

How many times they did IUI for you? If it is the first time, try one more cycle and then go for IVF, if you dont get pregnant with IUIs. You have more chances with IVF. Sometimes you need ICSI with IVF, in case where the sperm cannot penetrate the egg. For me they did 3 clomid cycle and 3 IUIs and I never got pregnant. When they did IVF I got pregnant.
