I had my tubes tied in 2008 then in 2014 I had them untied. Was hoping that I would be able to conceive after that , but no luck . Did HSG test in early 2015 to find out that the tubes were blocked proximal .
I'm now seeing a new doctor and he put me on a heavy dose of antibiotics and suggest that I do another HSG test.
I'm hoping and praying this works and the antibiotic help clear out any infections and I have been reading up a lot that the HSG test help unblock the tubes.
If not we will have to do IVF . Which I'm not looking forward too .
TTC is so hard and can be so frustrating.
Talk to your doctor or a specialist. Tubal reconstruction surgery is expensive (not covered by insurance) and not as likely to succeed as IVF is, due to the chance of the tubes scarring again, but your bigger problem is the ablation. Only your doctor (or a fertility specialist) could tell you if your lining gets thick enough to support a pregnancy. If it does not, you might be at serious risk. (Your lining has to be thick enough or there is the chance of the embryo burrowing into the uterine sidewall in a way dangerous to you and to the pregnancy.) Anyway, talk to a specialist and get your lining thickness measured during your cycle, and then go from there on deciding between tubal reconstruction and IVF.
