Well it can depend from person to person. They will actually float around in the uterus until about the same time regardless of whether it is a day 3 or day 5 transfer. But the it can happen up to 7 days post ovulation (so a day or so with a day 5 transfer and 3 days of so with a day 3 transfer. There are a TON of signals that the embryo sends to the uterus as it pops around the uterus, I always like to picture a game of pong when I think about it. Its bumping into the uterine wall is believed to be a way to "find the perfect spot" and to communicate to the uterus "I'm coming in!!!"
How long does the embryo(s) float around before implanting after a 5 day transfer?
all of the above from all REs i think
some do 48 hrs bed rest
some do 72
some do a modification of them
We always tell people to do what they feel comfortable with because we never want our patients to look back and wish they hadn't gone on that 5 mile jog and then think that maybe that is the reason they did not conceive. I would use good judgement. In a normal pregnancy situation you would have no idea that the embryo was floating around in the uterus and had not implanted yet, but since you have gone through so much, I would just tell the DH to bring on the pampering :c)
I have being doing the same, allowing DH to pamper me. I am enjoying it greatly I must say.
I am doing my 3rd IVF now with ET on 4/7. My RE has told me all those things you have listed every time. I do almost nothing after ET. It's a little 2wk vacation to relax and let my DH pamper me.
D:):)
I don't know about all of those being true but I have have researched and found several websites stating that you should not douch or use tampons, no excessive physical activity, you should stay sedentary for 24 hours after the procecure and you should AVOID caffeine, smoking, alcohol and drugs.
