Small Fibroids & IVF

My husband & I have been planning to do IVF/ICSI (his vasectomy reversal was unsuccessful). Before my Gyn had me do the Clomid Challenge test, he scheduled me for pelvic ultrasound. The US showed 3 small fibroids, the largest being 2.7cm. The report said they were located along the posterior wall. My uterus was mildly enlarged, measuring 9.7x4.7x6.1cm.  Will this impede my chances at IVF? Is surgery only used for larger fibroids? Any advice and help is greatly appreciated!

tks for responding! how large was your fibroid? i finally got in touch w/ the fertility clinic and they said they need my ob/gyn to order me a saline sonohysterogram test. the clinic said that after they see the test results, they'll let me know if the fibroids need to be removed or not. I'm hoping no surgery! i did have a lap done in 2005 to check for endometriosis, but the doctor never mentioned seeing fibroids. so i guess these are new. my mom had them too, when she was much older. i hear that genetics is a factor...

I had a big fibroid in my uterus and my RE said that it wouldnt decrease our chances of getting pregnant. I ended up having it removed because it caused alot of pain. Have you talked to your DR about a lap? Good LUCK with your IVF/ICSI. I'll also be doing ICSI in a few months.
