Back on the horse

I went thru IVF back in April and unfortunately it did not work I am now ready to try again but I am not sure if my success rate has dropped.  The first IVF cycle I went thru we used fresh embroys.  This is a FET cycle and I am not sure if any one has done fresh then went thru FET could let me know what to expect and if the success rate is the same.  I am just a little nervous trying again finding out the first IVF cycle did not work was very devastating and I am slowly climbing back on this horse.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Hey,

i heard the success rate for natural vs. medicated is the same. my doc put me on natural because i have regular cycles and i feel because we have male factor, im fine. we had 27 eggs but only 14 fertalized and only 13 made it. we did IVFw/ICSI. he also said that natural is less stress on the body after the ivf cycle. im sure your RE is putting you on the best thing that works best for your body. Good luck again and SSBD!

Thank you all so much for your help.  I have 11 embies also.  My first cycle they implanted 2 everything seemed to go wrong that cycle I had OHSS and shortly after I got that resolved I caught a really bad cold.  Of course not knowing if I was pregnant or not I didn't really want to take alot of cold medicine.  So I was completely miserable and then to find out later that it did not take didn't make me feel any better of course.  I am not sure the grade of my embies 6 were frozen right away.  I will have to ask the doc if he know what the other 5 might be.  I had my implantation 2 days after my eggs were taken.  I just got my meds today we are not doing a natural FET not sure why but I hope that that does not make a difference on the success rate.  My insurance does not cover this of course but when you want to be a Mom so bad you can taste it money is the least of your concern.  I wish you all the best of luck and thanks so much for listening.

I pray all goes well with you and SDScientist. I go Thursday for my blood test...took three home pregnancy test and all were negative. I also had OHSS and now feel better. Everyone says that isn't good. I'm still keeping the faith. This is my 1st cycle.

HI,

yes i am doing a natural FET this month my first IVF failed in July. i got AF on sunday will go back on monday for sono and bloods. In case you're wondering a natural is when they monitor you cycle if you have normal periods and they insert the eggs around the time your body would normally concieve. so they have to monitor your lining and watch yourt body ovualte and release the egg and everything. with meds i believe everything is controlled like the IVF and they give you meds to make your lining grow and everything. My Re said we still have a very good chance with the FET. we have 11 frozen embies on day 3 grades 1 & 2 with grade 1 being the best. i hear some clinics grade diffrently with 5 being the best. i agree with SDscientist on the success rates. she knows alot! she has been extremely helpful to me and to others from what i have seen. How many frozen embies do you have? if you dont mind me asking what are their grades and what day were they frozen on? I hear alot of success stories from the 2nd attempt so dont give up! we are still young and have a very high success rate! Good Luck with your FET. when are you scheduled? SSBD!

My first IVF failed in early May as well.  I was devasted to say the least.  Right now I am on Day 5 of stim meds.  I have a frozen embryo but with only one we decided to do a fresh cycle again.  hopngfortwns08 is doing an FET.  So she may be able to provide some insight on it.  My doctor gave us the option of doing an FET with one and told us the success rates (for his clinic) were 40-50%.  And with fresh he gives 50-60%.  So not too much of a difference.
