androgens? what next?

I went to see my OB doc today again and i wanted to be put on metformin (I have PCOS, 2 miscarriages, 1 successfull pregnancy) He said he usually doesn't prescribe that and thought clomid would be his choice again. i've miscarried twice on clomid and not so happy about maybe taking it again. so i asked him about metformin and he said he was going to talk to an endocrinologist i saw before b/c i had postpartum thyroiditis after my daughter was born.   my fasting sugar was 83 last week.  (i'm not diabetic)
thoughts?
he also said he is going to check my androgens ( i think thats what he said)...whats that? he said they hadn't been check since the beginning which was over 3 yrs ago.  ???

i feel so fustrated and sick of all this...can't i just be normal!!!!!!! ugh!!!!!!!!
sorry for venting!!!

i miscarried around the same time but i'm not sure the exact dates.
my doc told me today that the labs were back and my androgens are now 221 and they were 300 3 yrs ago....so i guess thats in normal range and my DHEA is back to normal too....NOW WHAT?  Will metformin even help me???

my friend at work was talking about how they did IUI...is that an option for me?

oh one question for you? did you miscarry around the same time on both your pregnancies? I miscarried the same day on both times.

I have PCOS also and had 2 miscarriages, I was not taking any fertility drugs when I got pregnant though. I'm currently taking matformin, I'm not diabetic either. I have elevated prolactin due to PCOS and elevated testestrone, so i take cabergoline and dexamethason. I also femara which is like clomid and take estradiol to make my lining thick. I also take the ovderial shot to ovulate. So it is very frustrating to deal with all the side effects and of course I'm always concerned about birth defeats, but with my last miscarriage, we tested the fetus for any genetic abnormality and everything seemed ok with the baby, so the explanation I got my docs was that maybe bc I have so many hormanal abnormality, that is what is causing  the miscarriages.

You should definatley have your docs check your prolatin and testestrone levels and maybe get on metformin since it improves the quality of your eges.

Hope this helps
