ectopic pregnancy

I had sugery for an ectopic pregnancy on the 24 Mar 07.  I was told my symtoms of pregnancy would fade but they haven't, instead they have became stronger.  I just started to feel morning sickness and my chest is so sore i can't even take off my bra with out almost crying.  Is this normal?  My husband and I really wanted this baby and not knowing why these symtoms won't go away is hurting me.  I also know that twins run in both of our families and was wondering if i could have had twins and one just got stuck in the right tube.  If anyone knows any info on this matter please share, we are both hurting and just want to know if i am going crazy.....lol

Thanks
Teresa

Hi there, I just wanted to tell you about my sister. She had m/c in Sep '06. Her beta hcg numbers kept increasing.  She had an us and could not find anything. She kept on feeling a gas bubble type feeling on her right side. She finally demanded a mri and they found a twin-ectopic pregnancy. She had that removed and yesterday had emergency surgery for a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in the same tube. I guess the dr only removed the portion that had the attatched egg in it. Very odd, but I hope it helps you in some way. Best of luck to you.

I was classified as a high risk pregnancy due to the fact i have been pregnant 5 times and miscarried all of them but on.  I also had 1 second trimester miscarriage and another baby was born at 51/2 months and passed away 30 mins later.  With me being in the military and i go to the flight surgen they put me in that class and sent me to a specialist, he also took one look at my history and said the same thing.  He put me on 4 hour shift and really limited me to the desk.

Sorry for you loss.   I understand how you feel.  I know that you wanted this baby and now it's gone.  It's such an awful feeling.

With regard to your symptoms, if they operated they would have been able to see your uterus and been able to tell if there was an intrauterine pregancy there.  I assume with the surgery you are referring to was where they removed your tube.

It could be that you just have HCG left in your system.  Sometimes it takes weeks for this to go away.   Therefore your symptoms remain.

As for the symtoms for an ectopic pregnancy i really didn't have any.  I guess i was luck due to the fact i was a high risk pregnancy and the doctor told me to go to the emergency room if i had the slightest pain.  They found fluid/blood in outside of my uters.  They did a scooping to make sure there was nothing in my tubes our outside of my uters but they found the baby in the right tube.  I talked to my doctor's nurse and on monday i will be going in to due and ultasound because of the symtoms i am still having.  i pray that if you think you might have an ectopic that you are not but if you feel you might go to the doctors ASAP or the emergency room.

I agree with mommyluv- if one twin was in the uterus, they would have seen it on the u/s. Even though the pregnancy was removed from your tube, you still have some hormones in your body that can make you feel pg. If the symptoms persist, then check with your doctor, but I think it's just taking a little while for your body to realize it's not pg anymore. I'm sorry for your loss! I had an EP after my m/c, and in some ways it was harder to deal with.

Thank you so much, I think I'm more scared than anything.  I've been having pains, not severe though, like gas pains.  The doc did an examination and said he wasn't alarmed yet (a pelvic exam and something about no tenderness was a good sign) I had an u/s but I was only 4weeks 5 days and they couldn't see anything either way, so I go back to the Dr. on Monday, and will get another u/s sometime next week as well

are they following up with Beta blood work? it could be possible but i think they would have seen something on the u/s. they did one right? how far along were you when they did the first u/s if you are concerned then i would call the doctor and let them know what you are feeling and ask them for more blood work and for another u/s good luck and please keep us posted.
