A common trait with PCOS/PCOD is false pos opks. The cd21 progesterone test would be the best indicator as to whether or not there was ovulatory activity. The test with a .5 shows that you did not o yet. Have you considered switching from an MD to an RE? There are meds than can significantly increase your odds of conceiving with PCOS/D.
Hello Aray,
I've heard others say they had levels that low and still O'd. Fortunately, there are several meds they can give to increase your Progesterone levels. But the most important thing is that the Progesterone test be taken on the correct day and not just for one day. This is because you could have ovulated earlier or later than you thought and therefore, your Progesterone may have been taken at the wrong time and appear to be low. But I was diagnosed with low Progesterone myself (6.9) and my doc was telling me I wasn't O'ing and I know I was. I was using OPK's and charting my temps and they all clearly showed ovulation and I had very regular cycles. So the doctors on here said that I was most likely ovulating because of that. I started taking vitamin B6 to increase my Progesterone and it definitely did increase it because my temps would be higher after O and my luteal phase was extended by at least 2 days. So maybe you can try this on your own. Your doc won't tell you to take B6 though but my research made me comfortable enough to take it at the correct levels (100mg daily).
But sometimes you can ovulate but not ovulate correctly. You can do a search on "disordered ovulation". I had to do my own research because I had to leave my doctor because she did a test of my uterine lining during a hysteroscopy and told me I wans't ovulating. Turns out she did the test at the beginnning of my cycle, before I even O'd, instead of the luteal phase and there is no way to tell if you O'd BEFORE you even O????. So I didn't trust her anymore after that mistake and left.
Good luck to you!!
Trish
because opks just read a elevated LH hormone but it cant say for sure if you ovulated or not. your progesterone has to be above 15 in a medicated cycle to mean that you have ovulated so a level of .5 deffently means you didnt ovulate sorry
