The semen preserves the sperm for longer inside the body

I do try to lie there for 20 minutes, though I do believe it helps, there are millions of sperm in every ejaculation, as soon as there in there they are supossed to start swimming, obviously gravity helps but I am trying to think about how women get pregnant by accident..........(we have been trying for 18 months).......I don't know how they do it!? And I'm sure after a one night stand they don't lie there with there hips evelaveted for 20 mins???

Have exactly same thing, constatnly worries me DH jokes that I "spit it out" even if I lay completely still it starts flowing out within 5 min.  I've been reading on webmd that sperm know where they are going and what they are supposed to do when they get there :).  I hope this statement is right.  I asked obgyn about this once and he told me that as long as I don't stand up right away I should be fine.  So I make sure that I lay as still as possible for 30min after bd.

Also isn't the cm supposed to help move the sperm....Mine seem to be lost and they don't ask for directions...ha ha

I have had the same problem. I wait 20 minutes or so with my hips elevated, then it all flows out usually an hour later.  Is this a problem?  One time, it was really weird.  It had turned to the consistency of water and gushed.  Sorry for TMI, but is this bad?

I too have the "leakage" problem- and have also been wondering if it actually matters or not (i kind of think not when you think about how many sperm is in the semen some of them should be able to make it to an egg??!!)   We have been ttc for about 5mths not, no muck yet.  Our sec. baby took us about 3 1/2 yrs. and I remember practically going in a hand stand many, many times did not seem to help, but of course find myself doing the same thing again...also heard that if you lay on your left side after sex that its suppose to help don't know why or how, but I do that too.
I know you've probably heard it many times "to not try so hard, take your mind off the pregnancy part of it" but that's what seemd to work for us when we had are 2nd babe,  was suppose to have surgery so should have started using protection but figured there was no chance of it happening anyway ---then found out I was pregnant!!
Anyway good luck to you, best wishes for 2008

I've had similar issues with 'leakage' as I say...  If you elevate your hips for about 20 min after that might help.  Not sure about the endo - I have a friend who is about 21/22 weeks and she has/had endo and is doing just fine!

If it were me, I would have lap. surgery to remove the endo.
Not sure about the sperm thing--Have you gone in for a post coital test?  That would help you to know if and how much sperm is staying in there.
