iui and autoimmune disease

Hi, i'm 31 and have been diagnosed several years ago to have a mild case of lupus, took medications at that time and stopped it 4 years ago, and its under control till now according to the recent blood tests i had couple of months ago.Now i'm married 3 years ago, and trying for a baby since 1 and half years, had a low progesterone level treated with clomid for 6 months, then a hysterosalpingography showed a mild adhesion in the left tube. Now i had 2 iui with a pregnyle injections but no luck. Can it be that the lupus might be influencing the failure of the iui?If not can u plz advice me what to do, i want a baby so so much.Thank you.

I have systemic lupus which was diagnosised just in mar 2010. Before that the doctor(2001) told me that I had discoid lupus! I too am trying to have a baby and on Friday will be trying my first iui! My doc says I am a difficult case and is working with the lupus doc! I have to take aspirin everday! I am just wondering if you have been succesful at getting pregnant! Also do you suffer from poly cystic ovarian or endometriosis?

Unfortunately yes lupus can cause fertility problems and also puts you at greater risk for miscarriage :( I'm so sorry. I would try and get your RE or OB and rheumatologist to work together to come up with a plan.  Maybe with treating your lupus and doing fertility treatment all at the same time you will get the winning combo. I have ankylosing spondylitis which is similar to Lupus, both autoimmune and arthritic in nature. I wish you all the best and hope you are able to find the right combo to get your BFP soon.

you definitely need to ask this of your doctors.
