Welcome! I just joined today AND had my second IUI today as well.
I have decided to use Clomid (I'm on the lowest dose assignable - just increased it) and do 2 rounds of IUI. We are considering IVF if we are not successful. (Knock wood for good news!)

My doctor has never mentioned injectables but have read a lot about them online, so will ask when I see him next week.

Hey there,
Welcome to the site! I just had my first IUI on the Oct. 12th and got pregnant from it. I didn't use Clomid or the Ovidrel shot, even though they wanted me to. Our problem is male factor, and they wanted me to have more eggs for his few sperm. However, I decided not to take the meds because on my ultrasound there was a good follicle (they didn't know at the IUI that I didn't take my meds).

My advice is that it depends on the cause of infertility, and also your comfort level with using the meds. Many women use them and get pregnant all the time with no side-effects. Having more eggs and a definite ovulation from the shot will definitely increase your chances of getting pregnant. Especially if you went natural this time and it didn't work. My friend had polycystic ovarion syndrom, and used clomid for 3 cycles and got pregnant after 1.5 years of trying.  I would also talk to your doctor about your concerns and see what they think.

Good luck!
