I had tried 6 IUI's but they were cancelled due to the fact I had too many follicles and they couldnt go any lower on the dose. As soon as I could change insurance to cover IVF I did and got pregnant with my son.
Wow, you must've responded really well to the medications. I didn't even know you could do that low of a dose of 25 IU's. Was your plan to do IVF or IUI? Or did you convert from IUI to IVF after realizing you had 15 eggs?
I hope I have a good response.
15-20 mins of thaw time should be fine. If I didnt do it ahead of time, I would hold it in my hand for 5 mins to warm it up a bit. I also did 10 days of shots for IVF. I was on a dose of 25IU follistim. I got 15 eggs and have a son who is 19 months now. Good luck.
LOL, That's OK. We are planning on doing IUI, unless I have a really good response, then we might be able to switch to IVF (we have insurance coverage and I really don't want to waste another cycle....) I just have to wait and see how things go in a few days. I've been taking it out and letting it reach room temp. for about a half hour or so.
Oh nevermind on my message i sent you! I thought you were doing IVF..75units is a small dose of follistem for IVF, not for IUIs...haha..sorry .My doc said it could be out for a half of an hour if needed.
Only 10 days of shots for IVF that is not bad at all! My friend had to do them for weeks!! If I get a good response I might convert to IVF, we will have to wait and see...
I did do IVF and I did 10 days of shots ! but my dose was way high because RE was trying for alot of eggs so we would have some to freeze !
Oh thank God! Well not about the less painful thing would have been good to know. It did sting just a bit, not to bad though. Thank you for the heads up.
No you didnt do it wrong. It is just less painful when you let if reach room temp.
I didn't bring mine down to room temp dr never said anything??? Did I do it wrong??
I used it in combination with clomid. I took clomid from day 3-7 and follistim from day 7-10 or 11 depending on what my midcycle results were. I tried it for IUI. Will find out tomorrow if it worked.
OK great, good to know! Thanks Ladies :)
Wow - great, so how long did you have to give yourself the injections, and did you do IVF? I am doing this first round with IUI... so I only have to do about 8-12 days of injections, depending on how my body responds.
It should reach room temp in about 15-20 minutes. Good Luck!
I only took mine out about 15 mins before my shots they did good got 37 eggs :-) good luck !
