Follistim

I will begin 75 IU's tomorrow... and it has to be at room temperature.  How long does it take if you take it out of the fridge (approximately) to get it at room temperature? an hour? a half-hour?..... I just need to know b/c I am supposed to inject between 6-8 pm and I don't get out of work until 6:15 and home by 6:45 so I was going to have my husband take it out of the fridge.
Thanks!!

I had tried 6 IUI's but they were cancelled due to the fact I had too many follicles and they couldnt go any lower on the dose. As soon as I could change insurance to cover IVF  I did and got pregnant with my son.

Wow, you must've responded really well to the medications.  I didn't even know you could do that low of a dose of 25 IU's.  Was your plan to do IVF or IUI? Or did you convert from IUI to IVF after realizing you had 15 eggs?
I hope I have a good response.

15-20 mins of thaw time should be fine. If I didnt do it ahead of time, I would hold it in my hand for 5 mins to warm it up a bit. I also did 10 days of shots for IVF. I was on a dose of 25IU follistim. I got 15 eggs and have a son who is 19 months now. Good luck.

LOL, That's OK.  We are planning on doing IUI, unless I have a really good response, then we might be able to switch to IVF (we have insurance coverage and I really don't want to waste another cycle....) I just have to wait and see how things go in a few days. I've been taking it out and letting it reach room temp. for about a half hour or so.

Only 10 days of shots for IVF that is not bad at all! My friend had to do them for weeks!! If I get a good response I might convert to IVF, we will have to wait and see...

I used it in combination with clomid. I took clomid from day 3-7 and follistim from day 7-10 or 11 depending on what my midcycle results were. I tried it for IUI. Will find out tomorrow if it worked.

Wow - great, so how long did you have to give yourself the injections, and did you do IVF? I am doing this first round with IUI... so I only have to do about 8-12 days of injections, depending on how my body responds.
