my doc in california only measured HCG
he measured progesterone only at 13 weeks to ensure it was ok to go off
Progesterone helps thicken the lining and if implantation occurs, progesterone is what helps sustain the little bean until the cord develops. It comes from the follicles that rupture when you ovulate so typically the more follicles I have that month, the higher my progesterone level is on CD 21. I had an ectopic in Jan. and Re put me on progesterone suppostitories because my progesterone was at 10 after a BFP. She said they like to see progesterone at at least a 10 to support the little sprout. My progesterone rose well above 10 with the supositories.
Hi,
The link was really helpfull,,Thank u,,good luck,,,,,,,,
I like this chart for hormone levels: www.pinelandpress.com/faq/hormonelevels.html
Progesterone is tested on day 21 of your cycle. It is tested to see whether you are ovulating or not. I think doctors like to see the level above 5 on a non-medicated cycle.
levels vary so much with hcg. the main thing you want is your levels to double every 2-3 days.
as far as prog. i am not sure what a normal amount is but i know that they check to to assure you have the right amount to produce a strong uterus lining.
