Why is it best to take your bbt first thing in the morning? is it higher after you get out of bed and move around? or lower?

i think before i would O its like around 96-97 but it was also not in the morning.

It's really hard to say. Every woman is different as to what are "normal" temps. With me, that would be a pre-o temp if it were taken in the pm. My post-o temps are normally 97.8-98.3. But, there are women that a number like that would be a high post o temp. One temp alone doesn't tell anything. It is the overall pattern thoughout the cycle that tell the story.

i always remember about 3:00 in the afternoon and im 11dpo now and it says 97.70 its really lower than that which means im most likely not pg, is that about right?

The only way to get a "basal" temp is before any activity, immediately upon waking, before getting out of bed. Even a delay in taking it while still in bed will give a different temp. Once any activity has begun, your temp will rise.
