Wish Me Luck

Hi-
I'm new to this forum.  I'm 36 and have been TTC for abot 2 years.  Had one miscarrage (got pregnant naturally) in July of '09.  After that I tried for about another 6 months before I went to an RE.  The RE did a surgery for endo in the spring and we did an IUI the following cycle.  That worked the first time!  I was actually pregnant with identicals twins (lots of stressfull drs appointments!).  Unfortuntely the twins were mono/mono meaning same placenta and no membrane seperating the 2 babies.  I lost them at 15 weeks - that was last August.

Tried naturally for a few months, no luck.  Went back to my RE in november.  Missed my December IUI because of the blizzard.  Just had an IUI this AM - i feel like the timing is a bit off because i was away for 5 days prior.....

Anyway, i had 3 follicles - rather large (28, 30, 24) due to the lateness of the induction.  I'm going again tomorrow for another one.

Just hoping for some luck this time - my insurance doesn't cover anything, so hoping we don't have to go to IVF.

Would love to hear some good stories from others to help me get through the 2WW!

Good luck to all!

I've always been of the belief that bigger is better with the follies, esp. if it is a 'natural' cycle. I tried two IUIs- one was 'natural' and the other was with clomid- neither worked. I decided to move onto IVF which worked but brought on some new problems (please see your mail- I sent you a message). My RE suggested 3-4 IUI cycles and then to try to move on. However, you can do as many IUIs as you would like. I wish you much luck.

I hope my story will give you hope... I am 34 and have been TTC since I was 30. I have had 3 m/cs, the last almost 2 yrs ago. About a year ago I started treatment at an RE - to help me get pg faster and hopefully hold onto the next pg. 7 failed medicated cycles, and a few months ago my RE found I had borderline AMH and very low antral follicle count, and told me that I have borderline ovarian reserve. I was starting to truly believe that I would never get pg again. We have no insurance coverage for ivf, so I was trying to figure out what we were going to do as the next step.

Then last month I had a very weird cycle b/c it was right in the middle of Christmas and New Years. I basically had no monitoring until CD9, and I was already ready to trigger! I had not been doing opk yet and did not have the script for the trigger shot b/c they were not expecting the foll to mature so early. They had upped my dose of gonal-f for a 2nd time in hopes to get more than 1 follicle, but sadly it only seemed to make the foll mature fast, but did not stimulate more than one. So I didn't know if I had already missed my surge, and the pharmacy was closed so I had to wait until the next day to get the trigger. I had my 1st iui (all other cycles were timed BD), one 24 hrs after trigger and one 48 hrs after. My temps were already high the morning of the 2nd iui, and they usually rise 3-4 days after the surge, so I thought for sure I had missed the window and was doing iui too late. But 12 days later I got a BFP! There is still a long way to go, but my beta #s are very good and I am praying that this time it will work out. Weird cycles can turn out well! Best of luck to you!
