First Doctors Appointment

How long should a woman wait to go to the doctor for the first time. A home test was done and it showed pregnant. Please help. The appointment is not until the end of Sept. and this person will be 13 weeks. Is it to late for her to go or should she have gone sooner.

A miscrriage for her is high, because she had gastric bypass and everything. That is why I thought it to be very unusual for her to go this late into the pregnancy. Thanks again. I will keep in touch and let you ladies know how things are going.

I think she should go sooner.  Miscarriages usually occur in the first trimester, so you want to make sure everything is okay as soon as possible.

My doctor said they don't generally see patients until around 12 weeks, so it sounds normal to me.

She should go sooner..my doctor wanted to see me at 7 weeks.  I was actually 5 when I went but b/c my cycle is long they thought I was 7 weeks.  Definately get an earlier appointment...good luck!
