everyones different. some will test earlier, or later. generally the first day of your missed period x
Depends on where you are in your cycle more than when you had unprotected sex. I have had a positive hpt within 7 days of ovulation, but that is clearly not the norm. They usually say to wait until you are within 4 or so days of your next period if you are using an early test or even up to a week past if using a lesser test.
