My wife and I are in Ohio. She was deployed to Afghanistan for 12 months. We were in the middle of fertility process when she left. We have saved some money up for IVF. I was wondering how your IVF treatment clinic went and could we get some info on it. Thanks so much!
Joel and Tina
shady grove is awesome. we went to the columbia office and are 21 weeks along with our IVF baby :)
Yep, Shady Grove is an awesome program! B74 is their refund program right now! and j_ttc1year is pregnant with twins using their program and Mybabypooh just had a daughter through Shady Grove's Refund program. The only reason we did not go with them right now is because of our 7 snow babies... We have had our phone consultation with them and everything (free phone consultation with doc) and seriously Mel, You can call them tomorrow, and the girls will answer Any questions you have! They are very informative and very patient. You will really like them. they are 100% money back!!!!! 6 fresh 6 frozen!!! I do believe they have an embryo adoption program too... not sure on that... but I think they might???
Let me know what you found out about Shady Grove : )
Melanie
Hi Mel,
I came across this thread, I see you mention shady grove 29,000 complete with meds and donor fees? 6 fresh 6 frozen 100% refund?
Melanie
Guess what? My hubby and I have a phone consultation on May 27th with Dr. Levy!!! Question.... did they do an HSG on you? You did donor eggs right?
I know... the more I look into it, the more we can't pass it up! It will be a pain to travel there...but since we are using donor eggs... the trips will be minimal. It's about a 7 hr trip each way. The bad part is my DH doesn't have very much vaca time.... but we've got to figure something out! I am soooo glad the girls on here keep pushing me to look into them. Once you start comparing : )
I have my fingers and toes crossed that you won't need them though!!!! I am praying you to get your BFP in a few days! : )
SSBD!
xoxo,
Melissa
Wow! That sounds great!!!
I'll have to check into this program if this cycle dosent work out for us....
They must have one in Mass... i think i saw an ad for them somewhere..
I bet your getting excited!!! :o)
The more I look into Shady Grove.... The better they look! They have an awesome refund program for donor egge recepients!!! 6 fresh cycles 6 frozen cycles...all meds for donor and donor fees and Alot More paid for $29,000!!!!! WOW!!!! 100% refund if no baby home or if you decide to quit the program!
ok girls.... I'm looking into shady grove... may I ask who your doctor(s) are? My Dh likes their success rates : )
Thanks! I just wish I new which way to go. Shady Grove is 6 1/2 hrs one way... and the other place is only about an hour. I just don't want to pick the wrong RE again. I'm leaning towards the place in OH, and have an appt scheduled for the end of the month. I just don't know!!!!! : (
That is awesome news!!!! See it wasn't that bad, they always come around. I believe they want it as bad as we do they just take a little time to absorb the reality and deal with their pride. They truly love us and want the same things!!! I hope you find the right program for you!! Keep us posted
ok, i spoke to dh today, i think he's on board! my heart feel wonderful! i am starting to have hope again! I showed him the attain ivf program, and the shady grove information. he wanted to know who had the better success rate : 0 ) God love his heart!!!! We are going to check out both in detail and make a decision! Yippee!!!!!!
I will definitely look them up. It would be interesting to see the price difference. Thanks for the advice!
I know that you can use a donor but not a seragate. I believe they have donors on file or you can use someone you know. I only know this as we have friends using the same clinic (there is only one in our province). You can check it out online. They have the highest rate of sucess in all of Canada last I heard. Just google Regional Fertility program Calgary. I know they offer treatment to people out of province, but you need to be refered. I don't think it is like the states where you just go there and book an appointment. you need to be refered by a family doctor and there is a waitlist.
I don't see why not, it isn't covered by my provincial healthcare. I believe all the tests are in the price as well, although up here we never pay for bloodwork, ultrasounds, or to go see a doctor. We never paid a thing until we started IUI. All of our fertility testing was covered by provincial healthcare. So it may cost more if you are from out of country, i would look into it!
krichar~ Yea, if we live in the US, can we come to Canada? My only issue is I would be using donor eggs. How does that work there? And I sooo agree with you about the cost! I think the thing that stinks is you can get a bad RE, he can take all of your $ and just say... "good luck" when you leave. that's what kills me!
Mybabypooh~ I have looked seriously into Shady Grove, but it is 6 1/2 hours from my home. I kind of like having the clinic closer, even though I would still be traveling 1 1/2 hrs each way. I haven't even approached my hubby with what I have figured out what the final cost is going to be, I am kinda of affraid to, but I am praying like crazy that he wants a little one as much as me and agrees to it since we would get 100% back.
Wish Me Luck : ) I need it!
If I live in the states can I use a doctor in Canada?
I cannot believe how expensive IVF is in the States. Up here in Canada I paid $6150.00 for IVF which included the freezing of my extra embies, my husbands medical insurance covered all drugs 100% but if no they were about $2000.00. FET was $850.00 a cycle plus $450.00 for meds. It amazes me how these doctors prey on our vulnerabilty and charge whatever they want. How is the exact same procedure more in one place then another??? They are doing the same thing????
I used Shady Grove refund program..6 fresh cycle tries to have a live baby or your money back. I got pregnant on the second try. Good luck ladies!!
The rule is you have to have all tries done by the age of 38 I believe.
Yes, with using donor eggs, you get 100% of your $$ back if you do not take a child home. It is 3 fresh cycles and unlimited frozen cycles.
I looked into this but I think you had to be younger than 35. Is it really true that you qualify with donor eggs? If so I may do one cycle with my eggs (good lord willing) and then if I have to do another, I'll try the 3 for 1 program :)
Wow, I will. We will be using donor eggs, and I have made the appt w/ the indication that we would be doing Attain. I hope it doesn't matter that we've donon FET's with another RE?? (we have never done a fresh cycle) Thanks for the information!
Make sure you sign up for attain (if that is what you want to do) before you start your first IVF. It is my understanding that if you have had a failed IVF cycle they will not accept you into there program. Good luck! Hope it happens quickly for you.
I wrote a comment on one of your journals about Shady Grove.. I am not sure if you read that .. But Shady grove Fertility has better plans and good success rates..
