protestriun level

i was told that the protestriun level always makes a slight decrease before it actually starts rising again is this true does anyone know

well i'm pregnant and i was suppose to get my period last weds so a week from tomorrow and we found out the saturday before i was suppose to get period we went in for testing of my levels and the first day it was hormones 28 and protestriun 17 then 2 days later hormones only went up to 32 and proestriun went down to 12 so i was worried we tested again 2 days later and hormones are now at 66 and proterstriun went up to 12.5 so i was just trying to see if anyone knew if these problems were normal or not cuz i was very worried i was loosing the baby.

No problem...that happens to the best of us sometimes ;-)

In a normal ovulatory cycle, progesterone will be low in the first part of the cycle (while the egg develops), and then once ovulation takes place, it will increase to help a fertilized egg implant and sustain a possible pregnancy. If no pregnancy, the levels will decrease again at the end of the cycle and you'll get your period. If you do get pregnant, however, the levels will remain high and probably continue to increase for a period of time before leveling out.

I'm not really sure about the decrease before rise, though. Are you taking about in a pregnancy cycle or in a normal ovulatory cycle?
