severe cramping-please respond

I have had irregular periods since I went off BC about15 months ago except for this June & July, which I started period on my own where I was having to use Provera to start before.  I was 6 days late this month AUG. & woke up at 4am this morning crouched over in pain.  I started my period (without Provera) and it is not very heavy, but I am in more pain than I ever have been before with a period.  It is making me nauseated, shaky, and my forehead is damp but not dripping sweat.  Is this normal for some people?  Like I said I have been irregular for a long time so I dont know if this is okay or not.

I have had all of my bloodwork come back fine and they have checked me for enodmetriosis and PCOS.  I may have them take another look if it continues next month.

Based on the symtoms you are describing and that you have had this since the begining.  I would suggest speaking to your RE about Endometreosis.

Good Luck

Wow, you are right!  It is good to hear that someone has almost exactly the same issues at my age (29), almost the big 30, but sad to hear others also have to go through it.  Oh the joys of being a woman!  I called and talked to my GYN office yesterday and it seems there is a stomach bug going around and I was just lucky enough to get my first extremely painful period at the same time as a stomach bug!  And I cant remember the last time I had any stomach thing.  That explains the cold sweats and some of the nausea, and today I have added unpleasant trips to the bathroom!  Now I am missing work.  Oh well, just keep moving on and try,try again for the baby.  I am getting Clomid again this month (didnt do it last month) and hoping that will help.........or give me some more physical symptoms to deal with, Ha Ha.  Again, good luck to you also!

Girl I am so with you.  I actually thought I was pregnant this month because my boobs have been hurting for 12 straight days!  BUT I freakin started TODAY!!  I cried for a good hour!  I am sure you understand my sadness.  Yes, every freakin month it seems I add a new symptom.  BUT we must be careful.  I am going next week to get a full blood workup again to rule out it being my thyroid because I was told my hormones can mess with my thyroid.  It seems as soon as I turned 29 my hormones went crazy.  February of this year, I really thought I was pregnant because I was late, and some of the symptoms I was having..  Well, I ended up going to the emergency room because the heartburn i was having (again, thought i was having heart burn bad because I was pregnant) was actually because of my gallbladder!!  I had to have emergency surgery!  I guess my point to that, is that if you feel that something might be wrong, dont second guess and get to your doctor.  It may be nothing but it could be something.
Oh, and trust me, I miss my BC like crazy!!  ha ha...  But I am going to try a few more months and if we dont end up pregnant, then we are going to try invitro...  But I just cant wait to be pregnant, then RIGHT back on the pill to regulate these darn hormones!
I wish you the best of luck with TTC, and I just joined this site, but I am here for you if you ever need to vent or chat.  I am just glad (although sad at the same time) that there are women out there that are having the same troubles I am having...
Go to the dr and let me know!!!

Thank you for letting me know its not just me.  We have been ttc for over a year and since I went off of the BC (I was on it for the same reasons as you, since I was 15) so many different things have been happening that never did before. I was hopeful I was pregnant at one point because my breasts were hurting and I was cramping but not having a period.  I never had breast soreness before.  Well, now it happens every month.  It is just my hormones fluctuating. And now, this pain!  The pregnancy symptoms are like the PMS symptoms so I just never know.  It seems every few months I get a new symptom that I never had before.  And its not from being pregnant which is what we want.  Now that I am off of bc I realize how great it was at regulating me, and not just the period itself!!  But I have to deal with it so we can start a family which we want so much.  I just want to be sure that each thing is okay/"normal".  Thank you so much for listening and responding.  I really needed that today!!

Of course I am going to suggest talking to your doctor because I am not a proffesional, but I can say I have been there before.  I have woken up with cramps so simular to contractions!!!  Almost all my life I have had to be on BC because of my cramps and irregular periods.  I would cramp so bad but spot for like 2 days THEN finally the flood would come!  I would spend 40 bucks a month just to buy all the stuff I needed to survive my period.  I would use icy hot pathces on my tummy and back.  Take excedrin for pms every 6 hours and use super tampons.  But this is just me.  Now, I am ttc and no longer on the pill and every now and then I get lucky and dont have to feel this way, but i still do.  Maybe talk to your doctor about a different bc.  Also get blood work done too to rule everything out.  Good luck and I hope you get the answers you need.  Please let me know how things go!
