Thanks. I'm taking vitamin E also, and I think it may have helped. It may have just been the timing, but since I started taking it my periods have been a little heavier, still not normal for me, but probably near normal for most women. In March, cd 10, I had a lining thickness of 3, then started the vitamin E. In July, cd 6, the thickness was 4 mm. That sounded better to me since it was thicker earlier. Now I'm on cd 15, took clomid - 50 mg days days 6-10. Yesterday I had pains in my left side near the hip and a little on the right. I've never felt ovulation before but I've heard that often you will on clomid more than when unmedicated so I'm hoping that's what it was. (Could be I pulled something while swimming with my stepdaughter Monday night!) Best of luck to all of you!
I was on clomid (100mg) last two cycles and each time my periods were lighter than normal ..indicating that my lining was thinner (my Dr didnt want to monitor me !)
My day21 progesterone levels were very high since i was overstimulated by clomid...
but yes, I have heard that taking Estroegen definitely helps when your lining's getting thin due to clomid...
good luck to you!!
I have had thinned lining on clomid. From what I understand, if your lining is thin due to low estrogen levels, they can give estrogen supplement to help thicken it. For many women that does the trick. Clomid can also make you have higher estrogen levels, so maybe that is what your doc is thinking as far as clomid thickening your lining. If lining is thinned due to clomid side effect, then estrogen supplement won't help (that was the case with me).
Although my lining was very thin on 1st cycle of clomid, my RE had me continue 3 more tries with clomid, saying that lining responds differently every time, and they wanted to establish pattern of thin lining. I wish I would have pushed to move to something different sooner. Best of luck to you.
Yes, everything I have heard says clomid thins the lining... They even tell you on the Asherman's website not to take it if you have Asherman's.
I had a dnc years and years ago... actually, I have emailed the top surgeon for Asherman's in the country, told him my story, and he is not 100% sure where my scarring came from. My is only in the fundus area (where the embryo emplants) and I just had my 2nd hysteroscopic surgery to correct it on July 6th. I won't know if the scarring has returned until I have a repeat SIS or hysteroscopy. probaby a SIS though because it can be done in the office.
Only Drink the Raspberry LEAF tea until ovulation though! it must be Raspberry LEAF tea though.. not just Raspberry tea.
Yep, if you want a wives tales you can try... lay on the floor with your legs against the wall for 20 minutes a day. Thinking being, circulation cannot get your your legs and sits in your stomach/uterine area and increases the blood flow to the uterus. I have also heard (and am taking) Vitamin E 400mg can help also.
Thanks for the info. Everything I've read also indicates that Clomid inhibits the endometrial lining growth, but I'll try the raspberry tea. Was your Asherman's a result of surgery?
here is an explantion from the asherman's site:
The explanation is pretty simple, AS is scarring in your uterus or cervix which either blocks the flow of the blood out (your normal period) or scarring has stopped your lining from growing beyond a very small amount and therefore no period because no lining. AS generally has nothing to do with your hormones, that is, it does not stop you from ovulating (this is how I knew I had AS as I was ovulating like clockwork for months - I knew from charting my temperature daily - and had no period at all).
Glad to hear NO Asherman's!! : ) I am dealing with that...it's not fun! But the thin lining may be a cause of the dnc's...
Everything I have learned about clomid is that it Thins the lining, maybe someone on here can give you different information, but that's what I've always heard. For your thin lining, you can try drinking Raspberry LEAF tea from day 1 of cycle till' ovulation... it helps to tone the utuerus.
There are woman on the Asherman's site that have concieved w/ lining of 4mm or sooo though. That's good news! : )
