What kind of doctor should i see

Hello, this is my first time here and i just have a few questions...first off i started seeing a regular obgyn and he got me regulated on my periods...( i had very irregular periods) and he said give me 6 months and we will get u pregnant so i gave him 6 months and now he says i am going to far past his expertice...so my question is do i go to a fertility specialist now, would that be my next step.  I am very regular in my cycles now but still no pregnancy and i want to know why.  Any help will be greatful i have been dealing with this for 5 years now and i am about to loose it

Thank you so much, now to find one that accepts my husbands insurance and to get my foot in the door.  *crosses her fingers* i hope this works
