Crohns or something else?

I have a 14 y.o. son who since Dec has been experiencing slight upper-abdominal cramps and some diarrhea.  He just had an endoscopy & colonoscopy performed today.  The colonoscopy was fine and the ydid not find ulcers or polyps.  however, the endoscopy showed 8+ small ulcers in the duodenum.  Doctor concerned with Crohns and sent for biopsy, so we are awaiting the results.  
Could it be something else?  He does not have vomiting, fever, severe diahrrea .... i'm hoping it's not crohns.  any other diagnosis they could consider?? pls help

Hi, I can imagine your feelings right now.  I too have been through this being a mom.  Almost same scenario, at the time my son was 13 when all his symptoms started.  They did test after test, he drank more barium that he couldn't and didn't even care anymore to go to the doctor.  begging me not to make him go.  The poor thing I felt so totally helpless.  No parent wants there child to suffer.  In the end everything pointed to Crhon's.  They started treating him for it, so many meds..but he is now 28 and I am sure they have made progress.  But after watching him suffer , he was vomitng as well and dropping weight. I was so concerned and talked to his GI specialist about it.  So they decided to go in and explore.  I am just going to say this...if they say Crhon's and you have complete faith in your doctor then by all means do research to better help your son adjust.  My son at time before pulling him out of school went to school with another boy who had been living with Crohns' for about 5 yrs.  But when they got together and discussed there situation and what he had been feeling he would come home and tell me, he didn't think he had Crohn's.  I pushed this doctor, but he persisted he was the xpert and he had Crohns.  back to putting him into the hospital only to find out it had never been Crohn's . He was finally diagnosed correctly by a doctor that had been present during the surgery...they found out finally he had a G.I.S.T. I am not saying this is what is going on with your son.  Vomiting is very common with my son's condition, but the doctor also said that vomiting was related to Crohn's.  he was mistaken.  but thanks to a doctor who was present during my son's surgery...he basically saved his life.

All I am saying to put your mind and that of your son's at ease, you have to trust your instincts and your doctor.  I could not wrap my mind around the fact my son had Crohn's, I just did want to except it.  Who knows where my son would be today...I hate even going back to those times.  But he is alive and doing great.  You can view my pics and see how wonderful he is.  He is marrried and is almost done getting his Masters in Mechanical Engineering.  I am just thankful I didn't settle and pushed for them to go further and find out what was really going on with him.
