Bleeding after birth

I gave birth 8 wks ago and i am still bleeding is this normal?

Congratulations!  I hope everything went well for you and the new little one!
Yes, it can be entirely normal to bleed for that long. The bleeding should be tapering down.  Too much bleeding would be more than a pad per hour or any large clots.  If you are not having that much bleeding, you are most likely OK. If you want to stop the bleeding quicker than Mother Nature, you could ask your obstetrician to prescribe oral contraceptive pills.  Be sure to let your doctor know if you are breast feeding--we use a different pill for nursing moms.
