Is it true that there is no sperm in precum if the guy urinates before hes with someone. Also would sperm in precum travel through mens underware? I'm asking as I was with someone but we didnt have sex and he had underware on all the time. I'm just being careful as I had an ectopic about a year ago and has made me extra careful. I'm thinking of using the patch as a form of contraception, is this safe if you smoke occasionally?

There have been some recent studies that question whether there is ever sperm in the seminal fluid prior to ejaculation -- in other words there may not be any sperm there under any circumstances.  I would like to see more studies done before I would ever advise any of my patients "not to worry".  With underwear on though, I think you are pretty safe.
Smoking is never safe however.  If you only smoke occassionaly, you might be one of those rare few who could quit easily!
