Thick Uterus lining

I am 23 yrs old and I have a period every month. I went and had a US done on WED of this week and she said my lining of my uterus was around 5 cm thick and I am not suppose to start my period until the 30th of Jan. SO I was wondering what would be the cause for this and if I should be concerned?Thanks..

Endometrial thickness is best used to evaluate postmenopausal bleeding,  It isn't terribly helpful in premenopausal women, unless used as part of an infertility evaluation.
If you were my patient, I would probably first ask you to come back in for a scan right after your period to see if the lining has thinned out.  If it remains persistantly thick, I would consider an endometrial biopsy or possibly a course of progesterone therapy.
