I am 48 years old, nonsmoker, experiencing anxiety, heart palpations, internal trembling daily for the past 2 months. It gets worse right before my period.
Periods have been irregular the past 2 years. I also have hypothyroidism that is under control. My endocrinologist thinks my symptoms are perimenopausal. I agree. He prescribed microgestin FE 1/20. He says this should even out my hormone fluctuations and make me feel well again.
I am concerned about going on a BCP but am willing to try anything to feel better.
Your thoughts on this subject would be helpful.
Sincerely,
Linda
You can skip a period on Loestrin 24 by skipping the "sugar" pills and starting your active pills. But, it's different with every person whether or not you will still have breakthrough bleeding, your cycle, or just skip it.
I am on Loestrin 24 and I did that and I spotted for a day, only when I wiped and that was it. I didn't bleed until my next cycle.
It's not harmful, unless you continue to do this for every cycle. But, I was told by my doctor it was ok for special things, like vacation, wedding, etc.
