Has anyone had these problems before???

I will be 31 in a fe months. I have 2 kids, and have had my tubes tied for nearly 9 years now. i've noticed since last year, that my periods have been getting very irregular and i could never tell when they were going to sneak up on me. so i have had to start keeping track of them. i've been to have ultrasounds and taken progesterone. they said it was horomones. so i let it go. well this is september, and i've noticed that i've only had 4 periods this year. January, March, May, and July. i've skipped August, and most of this month, so far. i've noticed the past 2 weeks that my back has been hurting and my breast have been very sore. i thought, i've done something to make them that way, i'm not huge, (about a D) and they hurt when i walk around without a bra on. it kills me to bump them with my arms or anything. i've also noticed that i'm going to the bathroom more frequently,  i'm having alot of headaches, and my lower back has been hurting alot.  i'm usually cold natured, but last night, i woke up sweating, and that's not normal. my whole body was sweating. i got up this morning and took a pregnancy test, which came back negative. everything that i look up with these symptoms, comes back that it could be a pregnancy, so I have no clue what else could be wrong with me, since i'm not pregnant.  any suggestions would help ease my mind!!!

hiya. i feel stupid asking but every month my pms gets worse and worse! I have polycystic ovaries and am a bit podgy (but its soooo hard to lose weight with pcos). every month the pains and symptoms get worse. i dont like going to the doctor as i was raped and feel really uneasy about anyone apart from my partner going near my ladies bits. its as if every month i get pregnancy symptoms, feeling sick, breast pain, frequent urination, headaches, etc... but no babies! i really wouldnt mind if the symptoms resulted in me being pregnant but no. its such a let down every month. am i just being stupid or is something wrong with me??? I hope im not the only one who goes through this every month.

I forgot to mention that I also have what my doctor says might be  "cysts" growing where I used to have an ovary on the L side and a 4cm cyst on my R ovary as seen on in office ultrasound. I am waiting for a formal ultrasound and ca125 results right now. I have heartburn a lot which I never get on top of the nausea. I also have lost weight and can  barely  get food into me. Nothing appeals to me. I love candy and I can not even eat that right now. I didnt see any mention of these things in your post. Are you experiencing any of these things. I am scared to death because all these symptoms are listed on the symptom list for cancer of the ovaries.  It is 3 weeks til my ultrasound and it feels like  a lifetime away.

Hello. I was wondering if you ever found out what was going on with you? You have a lot ot the same symptoms as I do. No period, back pain, nausea, urinating a lot, and feeling pregnant.
I hope you are feeling better. Thank you.

Hello,

I suggest you return to an ob/gyn to review your symptoms and changes to your menstrual cycle.  They can repeat a pregnancy test, perform a breast exam and also check your thyroid and prolactin hormone (both can alter the menstrual cycle).   They will also be able to assess for the possibility of early menopause (which is called premature ovarian failure).

Best regards,

Dr. Downing
