Help

I am 30 years old married with 2 children and family is complete.

I first started my periods when i was 19 but from the last year and a bit i have had a awful time with my periods and i dont know what to do. I ve been on Micrigynoon and Certrezine and now marvelone and also had the implant which was removed because it bent and the other made my periods worse.

I can be on for 1 month at time or longer during my 7 seven day break i would bleed but before the last pack i would come on for 12 days plus and its seems to be cloting and the stomach cramps are un bearable bring my to tears. I am waiting for a hystoscopy to find out why. I was told to take 3 packs so 9 weeks then a week break but nothing seems to work, i get caught out whilst as work, it affects my relationship. I would like it to stop but they have suggested the mirena coil but i am now sure as i have heard so much negative feedback plus to make it worse i have a biocurrate uterus.

Please help and advise me on anything i can do, i cant take no more pain or bleeding

Thank you x  xj

Hi Elaine

Thank you for your response and helpful advice.

I am on the waiting list for a hysteroscopy and been told its 18 weeks waiting list at least, i should be on the urgent list according to my consultant. I am starting to feel really rough, tired and weepy but not had no bleeding for 4 weeks or less which is good for me. I take 3 packs and then a weeks break tried 1 pack and was nt good either.

I have had enough and looking for a long term fix not like the coil getting it changed every 3 - 5 years. I also suffer from IBS too and severe constipation.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that the Mirena IUD works very nicely for women with a normally shaped uterus.  In your case though, I would not be surprised if you didnt' respond quite as well as average.  I would probably encourage you to try it prior to any major surgery such as an ablation (which will also be difficult due to the bicornuate uterus) or hysterectomy.  A nice vaginal hysterectomy may ultimately be the answer to your prayers though.
Good luck!
