question

22 years old. have been very stressed with semester. last month period lasted 3 days and was very light. this month same thing so i took 2 pregnancy tests a few days apart from each other and they were both negative. i now just got my period about a week later again. have had it for 6 days, but it has still been fairly light and brown in color. i am normally very regular and am not on birth control. will go to my doctor if and when it stops. will it stop? is it because my cycle has been messed up due to stress?

Hi!
Stress has probably altered your hormone balance, and caused you to miss a cycle or two.
If you don't ovulate on any given cycle, the period won't be normal for that cycle.
If you were my patient, I would just ask you to call in, not come in, and I would prescribe progesterone to be sure the lining of the uterus is "clean" and then watch and see what happens in subsequent cycles.
Hope this helps!
