unexplained bleeding during intercourse

I have been in a monogamous relationship for 18 years.  On May 17th, I had unprotected sex with another man, who I don't really know.  The week after, I started bleeding when I would have intercourse with my long term man.  It was quite a bit of blood, but it went away immeadiately.  It happened several more times and I began to worry.  I went to see my gyn 4 weeks after my biggest act of stupidity.  He tested me for some STD's and said my cervix looked irritated, but nothing else looked strange.  He swabbed my cervix, and called me a few days later to tell me that I had herpes.
I wanted to know for sure if this is something that I picked up on my one night stand.  Gyn ran Herpes Select test and the results were very negative for both HSV1 and HSV2.  I know that it can take awhile for these tests to show that antibodies have been formed, so I may or may not really have it, and won't know for awhile.  I went on Valtrex two months ago, and am still having this explained beeding during intercourse.  In all of my research, I have not found any cases of HSV that manifest themselves in only this way.  I have only had two little bumps that were more like ingrown hairs and some itching down there.  The bleeding is really getting frightening.
I went back to the gyn when the valtrex didn't stop it, he did an ultrasound...found nothing.  Then he did another pap (I had just had a clean one in March)..and it came back clean.  I just knew that I had HPV and cervical cancer.  Dr. says that wasn't an issue.  All other std's have been ruled out.  I would like to believe that this is just some random thing that is happening to my lady business but the timing is really strange.  Could this really just be a result of being recently infected with HSV?  If so, can you recommend a way to make it stop.  I just want to TRY and get back to normal again.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.  I fear that I have stumped my dr. and my imagination is running away with me.

I am experiencing the same similar symptoms you are.  I just started sleeping with a new man a month ago.  Since then I have been bleeding after sex.  I have never had that issue before.  As of last week, I found a small sore that hurts when touched in my vagina.  It doenst look like the pics I found online of herpes.  Yesterday I went to the gyn and was tested for everything under the sun.  She said that the sore could very well be herpes and that my cervix was very irritated.  She scheduled me for a colposcopy to check my cervix more in depth.  PLEASE keep me posted on your status.  I am hoping for any alternative to herpes, it is making me sick just thinking of it.

Hello,

I think a dose of time will be helpful.  If the bleeding hasn't improved in a month go back to your physician to be examined again.

Best of luck,

Dr. Downing

It might be from chlymidia. I've had the same thing happen, my doctor told me that  chlymidia would cause bleeding during intercourse. I still have not been diagnosed though, and am also having trouble finding a doctor to help determine what is going on exactly.
