HIV unprotected sex menstruation blood?

I had sex about 40 hours ago with a female, i am a male. We engaged in vaginal sex however a condom was not used after removing my penis it had some blood the female was on her period.

After speaking with her she informed me that she was disease free and that she been tested and used condoms since but hadn't this time. However i do not know this female that well and i am also on immunosuppressants should i be concern and contact my doctor for PEP medication?
I have also been informed by a Sexaul health nurse that the likelihood of being prescribed PEP for this is low and they will more then likely not prescribe it.

Thanks in advance

Good Morning Paul,

I don't advise an HIV test sooner unless you are particularly worried by events in which case the test would be for peace of mind rather than strictly medical. As you'll know, you can have an HIV test performed in the UK at 28 days - the HIV DUO - and this is widely available in NHS and also private clinics.

best wishes, Sean

Thanks for the advice. I had read the uk guide lines on hiv transmission and pepse all informed risk % was low and pepse would not be advised for my exposure. However,i will get tested for other sti's and also a hiv test in the next 3months unless you believe a hiv test is need sooner

Good Morning

I think the likelihood of this woman having HIV in the first place is low. The chances of you acquiring HIV from a random single encounter with a woman of unknown HIV status in the UK is 1 in 100,000.

I personally would not advise PEP. I would advise condoms each time in the future.

best regards, Sean
