Yesterday (i.e., since jeffhaley's comment on 3/8), uniden638 posted a statement on another thread to say "it seems like its starting my luck i,m going to be positve even after my 11 week 1 day negative..."  That is, he clearly has not actually had a positive test, regardless of what he said or implied on the HIV Support forum.  (I had to delete the comment as both it and another comment in that thread were just total nonsense.)

Just to let you know Dr., the creator of this thread just made this post over on the HIV Support Forum:

<<6 weeks negative,7,8,9,10 weeks negative 11 weeks 1 day positive,so much for the doc>>

Are you buying this?

Oral candida is fairly common in immunologically normal people; I had it once.

Get this straight:  Based on the information you provide, YOU CANNOT HAVE HIV. Take any and every additional question to your provider or the HIV support forum, not here.

ONE last question doc promise..i have been told by my doctor i do have a candia infection of the mouth and throat,my question is doesnt a candia overgrowth suppress the immune system and if so, wouldn,t that delay my serocovnert because my system is surpresses wouldnt i fall in that small category?..and also when one has a supressed immune system does it produce a false negative or a false positve?have i serocovnerted yet at 10 weeks negative?.thanks DOC

Contrary to popular belief, HCV is rarely sexually transmitted or acquired.  HCV does not interfere with HIV testing.

One more question doctor..i was at the hospital last week for blood work and they said to me that they detected a fatty liver i was tested for HCV 4 days ago but my results are not ready..is there a chance that i could have been affected with HCV as well with the HIV at the same time? and if i so! would the HCV Co-infection with HIV alter my negative results at 10 weeks would i get a false negative? could it slowed down the serocovnert process and maybe that why i got a negative is there a possiblility i have not serocovnert yet?....also if you have a surpressed amuine system does it give a false positive or a false negative?..i also was on the web today and my tongue look like it is affected with oral lichen planus..please advice

Your symptoms cannot be due to HIV as one of your tests would have shown negative by this stage.
It is difficult to transmit HIV from female to male - I think the estimate is approximately 8 times less likely and given that this was an isolated incident with a female of unknown(?) status, I'd say you're 11 week negative won't change. The Doc on here considers 6 weeks conclusive although that is rarely sufficient for WW's like us!
Basically, you're home free:)

Modern HIV antibody tests always are positive within 6-8 weeks in people with new HIV infection, especially in those with ARS.  Therefore, your negative test results prove your sympoms cannot be due to HIV.  And taken together, the symptoms you describe do not sound much like ARS.  See a health care provider if they continue.

Good luck--  HHH, MD
